PNGO and PHROC: The Imminent Threat Forcible Transfer of Ghaith-Sub Laban Family, an International Crime and Ongoing Nakba

Alarmed by the imminent forcible transfer of the Ghaith-Sub Laban family from their house in the Old City of Jerusalem, which is slated to occur sometime between 28 June and 13 July 2023, the Palestinian NGOs Network (PNGO) and the Palestinian Human Rights Organisations Council (PHROC) vociferously assert that such manifestation of the ongoing Palestinian Nakba is a result of the international community’s deliberate failure and unwillingness to take effective and meaningful measures to end Israel’s illegal occupation, and settler-colonial apartheid regime.

Occupation’s Military Court Extends Detention of Birzeit M.A. Student Layan Kayed for 5 more days

The military court of the Israeli Occupation extended the detention of the graduate student, Layan Kayed, for five additional days. Layan has been detained, getting interrogated, and deprived of her right to legal counsel since her arrest on 7 June 2023. She currently holds the position of the Coordinator of the Palestinian Coalition for Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights "Adala", and pursues her graduate studies in Social Development at Birzeit University.

Palestinian university students face a sharp increase in political arrests by the Palestinian Authority

Addameer Prisoner Support & Human Rights Association views with great concern the increasing numbers of Palestinian university students who have been recently arrested by Palestinian Authority security forces on grounds of political affiliation. Following the latest student council elections at Birzeit University, PA General Intelligence Service arrested the President-elect of the Student Council, Abdulmajid Hasan, after having brutally assaulted him in front of his home.
